The food was great, the service was terrible.we had to wait 20 mins just for our water to come a nbn news reporter came in and was served before us and we had been waiting for 20 mins, food took longer than an hour.

Guys you've done it again.
took 26 friends out for dinner,(my 40th) fantastic
thankyou to our gorgeous waitress ali you were fun and your service was fantastic.
the night was perfect food was yummy and desserts mmm, my personal fav was the homemade panacotta, comes with two different toppings.

We booked late and they squeezed us in at 5.30 - breads came and my son dropped a piece of his which was replaced by 2 without even asking. service was fantastic and friendly. mains came and they were terrific - none of the usual "chips and veg or salad" just a beautifully cooked, well presented meal with lovely flavours that lingered on the pallet. it got a little noisy once the other patrons started rolling in but was a nice early dinner for our family. will deffinately be going back again either with the kids or in an adult group.

Very disappointing.
when the waitress took our order i knew it was going to be a disaster and it turned out that way. booked early because we had young kids. main came out before entree, had to request kids meal after entree finally arrived. had to remind them we were waiting for our main. finally came after waiting for another 20 minutes. what was planned as an early and quick dinner out turned into a painful and fairly expensive disaster. food was nice but if you want to charge relatively high prices for newcastle you really need to support the food with good service. won't be going back even though i live 5 minutes walk away.

This would be the best italian restaurant in newcastle. food, service all terrific. only thing is the service was too good - felt a bit rushed!! homemade desserts would be good as well, the cabinet ones lead much to be desired. on the whole, the food is terrific!

What a fabulous restaurant. our waitress (in her 40's) had personality and knowledge that you rarely find these days. the veal with seafood, chilli, tomato and white wine sauce was beautiful. all friends had the same rave review about their meals too. only disappoint was dessert which was from a cake cabinet. would have been nice to have some fresh made desserts or gelato on the menu too.

I loved the old verde luna, and had been waiting to try the re-opened version. it took the waitress ages to seat us, she almost ran out of wine glasses, and although we ordered veg with our meal we had to accept salad as the veges had "run out" .. on the plus side though .. the food was so delicious, even the salad ;) i really hope they get their service a bit better organised, because with such beautiful food, it will be a real winner ! yum

We went there about two weeks after re-open and the service was atrocious, the waitress could not even open a wine bottle! however they may have just been finding their feet with the reopening etc. the food was really good, i will go back but if the service is the same it will be my last meal at verde luna
