Forget the touristy nonsense at freo, southlands fish and chips is the place to have it. their english cod with chips is awesome, but so is their cobbler. these guys have won an award when they were in new zealand and they deserve it. the oil retention is virtually zero - you won't believe your eyes when you inspect the paper liner at the bottom of the box once you're done. it is a take away joint so there isn't much of an atmosphere. just excellent no-nonsense fish and chips.
