Customer service was terrible, sat down and after 15 minutes of not being attended to by the 2 waitresses, i went to the desk and asked for menus. they only had one menu left (despite there being a few empty tables spare, so it wasn't that busy). waited another 15 minutes before we were noticed by a waitress who went to give us menus, not noticing i had to get up and get one myself. we ordered drinks and the waitress got the drink order wrong and took another 5 minutes to replace the drink and give us an apple juice...
after waiting for over half an hour for our food ( 2 eggs benedict) we asked the waitress what was taking so long and she told us the chef stuffed up the order and had to re-make it. after another 20 minutes we finally received our "food". our eggs benedicts were disgusting. the whole plate was smothered in something that was no hollaindaise sauce. it tasted like split bernaise. the eggs were way overcooked and were had and yellow in colour.
we ate less than half of our meals and got up and asked to speak to a manager to complain about our terrible experience. we were told there was no manager and we told the waitress we were not paying full price for such a terrible experience. the waitress went back to the chef to see if she could take something off the bill and came back and said she couldn't.
i told her there was no way we were paying for the whole bill and because they wouldn't even apologise or offer to resolve the problem i walked out, at which the chef yelled out some snide remark from the window.
when we complained about the service we did so in calm way and were genuinely trying to let them know how bad our experience was without causing any kind of scene. the chef was a coward and couldn't even come out to explain and made the young waitress try resolve the problem on her own.
i'll never go back here, i've been here before with very average service but being anzac day it was the only thing open so we gave it another chance. big mistake. don't go here. on other occasions i've been here we had a table of 8 and the waitress came up and dumped the knives and forks on the table and told us to set the table ourselves because she had a hang over. wow.
they used to have a facebook page where everyone posted their complaints but they deleted it and put a new one up.
never go here.

 Big bucks for half containers of pasta

Paid $65 for four half filled containers of pasta. the carbonara had half the amount of the bolognaise. pasta was tasteless. i am pretty sure it had been microwaved. they did not want to know when we called to complain. really disappointed.

Rude and slow

Waited over an hour for our meal because our order was lost. staff were very rude and failed to apologisewhen our meals did arrive, the pasta was overcoooked to the point where it was falling apart.
overall, terrible andrude service - good thick shakes though

Shelly's has great food, great menu and great staff. it can get a little crowded, and that's because it's good!
does great take-aways too!
