Since it has a new owner/ under new management the food has improved a lot in terms of quality and quantity. they provided me with a sense of satisfaction due to their friendliness, good customer communication skills, and their willingness to provide me with my needs. i will be going back often. ;)

This review is not about food. from past review you can see that the food is not good. anyway, i would like to comment about the kind of service and attitude of the resto. one day while i was walking by with my little son 4 years old, he said to me that he want to go to toilets and he can't hold for long. so i quickly think where can i get a toilet around since i'm new around this area. suddenly, the vietnamese restaurant namely saigon nice caught my attention. i quickly enter and ask nicely one of the staff if i can use their toilet but he response negatively. he said to me that i have to buy some foods or drink here or i need to pay $2 bucks.
i was really deceived and pissed off because my little son really want to pee. so. i left instantly and look for another toilet. also, i promise that i'm gonna write a review about their attitude and behavior of this people.
on second though, i wish that i had my son pissed in front of their resto.

I bought prawn rice paper rolls on my way home. they were rancid and the smell was terrible. i only pass through altona occasionally and thought i'd give this restaurant a try instead of my usual place. bad move & the smell is still lingering in my kitchen. this place doesn't even deserve a rating.

We usually visit siagon nice restraunt once per month for what i think is their best dish: the crispy bean curd with spicy salt and pepper. however after this most recent visit this evening i will never be returning.
to accompany the crispy bean curb dish this evening, we ordered the vegetarian san choy bow after a good 15 minutes of trying to get the waiters attention to place our order.
placing the order was a struggle as the waiter spoke very little english. it took 5 minutes to explain that i wanted to order rice with our dishes.
within 10 minutes our vegetarian san choy bow arrived from the kitchen but after a few mouthfuls we realised that the dish was full of chicken and bacon pieces.
after getting the managers attention, he poked inspected the food and disappeared into the kitchen where loud voices were heard arguing in vietnamese.
the manager returned and confidently stated to us that the dish had a type of mock meat in it and that there was nothing to worry about so we continued to eat.
after another few minutes we became increasing weary of the food we were eating as it was unlike any mock-meat that we had ever tasted or seen and was a little too realistic.
we managed by chance to catch the attention of the chef, and even through her broken english she aknowledged that the dish infact contained meet and that we had been lied too.
to compound that, it took 30 minutes to receive our drinks: a simple lemon lime bitters and upon confronting the manager for his disgraceful conduct he offered us a "complimentary just of water" with glasses.
he has bought shame upon his family and business, and for his dishonesty i will never return as a customer.
