Well, after a couple of months i have to admit that rizzo's have really picked up in terms of the quality of pizza. the staff still seem fairly happy there and as usual are friendly and polite and a pleasure to deal with. the garlic bread is still a bit average but the pizza was amazingly good this time compared to my last review earlier in the year. can't fault it at all, good bases, good toppings, cooked perfectly and in good time, good value as well. i'd recommend them again, tastes like "real pizza" and not at all like the processed taste of the big chains. have ditched domino's again, will be back again soon for sure. rating: 4.5/5

I googled rizzos pizza earlier today so i could find their number to order lunch.the reviews i came across i don't believe to be accurate.we have just finished our lunch and thought it would be fair to write a review.value for money is exeptional,i took the large pizza,coke and garlic bread deal for $14 but as i was walking in i saw the any large pizza lunch time deal at $6,bearing in mind i'm not driven by price,it's a bonus to me that these guys are so well priced.i have bought pizzas from here for over ten years and i havn't had a complaint yet,todays pizza fed myself and a 16 year old apprentice who eats like a horse.(if i take him for a counter meal he has two steak sandwiches and still complains he's hungry!).i gave these guys 5 stars for atmosphere purely because i think they have copped a bit of flak in the stars department,in reality they probably could do with a facelift with there shop fit out....but hey,there obviously trying to keep there bottom line down doing great pizzas at the lowest price. i'm thinking all these bad reviews are written by one very sinister ex employee or similar........you be the judge........can't go wrong with the rizzos special.

Just been back to my (ex) favorite pizza shop after a couple of months hiatus on pizza........the pizza has gone downhill since my last visit. they seriously need to overhaul the recipe or something.
the bases are doughy and chewy, almost rubbery. overall they are just quite flavorless pizzas. no spices are present just the essentials. the pineapple is bitter and flavorless, the cheese is at least acceptable. the garlic bread tastes old and stale and was slightly burnt on the top
the girl who made them didn't even have food handling gloves on, just bare hands. this really surprised me after the food poisoning controversy earlier in the year.
also don't use your eftpos card because you will be charged an extra $1.00. this wouldn't bother me if the pizza was of a decent standard, but it isn't, it's very sub-par these days.
i don't know if it's something to do with cutting costs on ingredients or a change of recipe or what the problem is, but it's just not the pizza that it used to be, i'd even prefer domino's at this stage; i hate saying that because i'm all for supporting small, local business, but they need to have good food to back up my loyalty to them.
at the very least i can say that the staff are generally quite friendly and seem to enjoy their job, and their new blue uniforms look fairly professional. i just can't recommend their pizzas anymore, sorry rizzo's. i'll try again in a couple of months see how things are traveling then.

Always great and the best value for money in ballarat.
the single issue i've ever had with them (and have been going there regularly for about 10 years) is that the chilli level changes depending on who is the pizza cook on the night.. just a small thing for them to look at :)

Awesome pizza, use real ingredients! awesome staff. i always judge a place by what it looks like because i'm a shallow git, but seriously, don't worry about the appearance, better pizza than anywhere i've been in ballarat so far, no more pizzahut for me! 5 stars!

Looove these pizzas! the staff are lovely, great price and the pizzas are the best in town, good ol' school real pizzas that have a decent topping so your not left searching between cheese for anything... certainly had us comming back for more!

If you want a good pizza at a good price,rizzo pizza is the place to go too, not like the fast food outlets where you are only served crap. as far as hygiene is concerned the place is clean and tidy, however at times the place does get very busy. as far as hygiene rules are concerned the staff do wash there hands after handling food quite frequently. to get a good pizza one has to use their hands without restrictions to make the pizza. the gloves worn transmit more diseases when worn thus by washing their hands is a much safer way. i would recommend this establishment for a good value pizza unlike the rubbish that is served elsewhere.
