Great food

I have to discredit the review below, dont know if the place has new owners or not since its been 1 year since they posted and im new to the coast. but i dont feel anything that was said was applicable to the level of quality i experienced recently. ive only been eating there the past month and i love it so keep going back, its the only nice takeaway shop around - im fussy and usually crabby. their lunch special is $5.50 with a can of drink so i think thats cheap. they do not do eftpos and there are lots of signs clearly saying that but they do have to pay for that and your already whingeing about the price so i would rather have no eftpos and lower food prices. local hoodlums? never seen any and no-one has ever bothered me, there is a school a few blocks away so maybe you went there at the wrong time, sometimes there are kids at the ice cream store next door but they have been nice to me. really good kebabs unlike budgewoi who reheats their awful tasting meat, the chinese was perfect and they are not skimpy in fact i would have preffered less meat! burgers are great and cheap and their hot chicken and gravy rolls are to die for - they use kebab chicken (off a stick) and lots of it but they tell you this every time to make sure your ok with it - ive had about 7 and still he tells me every time and its a very big round bread roll. the quality of the chinese is fresh and restaurant quailty not food court quality which i cant stand. and if you think $11.80 (dinner price) is bad for an extra large container with no rice you have been hiding under a rock go to silver moon who charges $16. lunch special is cheaper than this. the 'large' fried rice your reffering to is the special fried rice which is also very nice mine had heaps of prawns and is cheaper than average. i think budgewoi soccer club gives major msg headache but not this one, it was done perfectly in my opinion. ill keep going back because i like the food and the price. its takeaway not eat in and the water is right across the road so you can go sit over there and enjoy. its popular everytime i have been there has always been 2-3 other people ordering and there is other food places around so that shows im not the only one that likes it, if you dont like it go try silver moon lol - no sorry thats cruel wouldnt wish that on anyone they were awful and a rip off they put that cheap seafood filler in everything.

Don't bother

Friend told us that although we'd tried their burger menu and thought their food really awful, that their chinese was good. we thought we'd give a local business a chance to prove us wrong - they failed.
overpriced for what it is, which is food court chinese.
in awful area you wouldn't want to visit alone - local hoodlums like to hang out and harass anyone going past.
this shop don't do eftpos (something they don't tell you unless you ask), so had to go couple of k's to get cashup at coles on the highway, then back to this place.
shocked at prices - $11.80 for a main and $6.50 for a 'large' fried rice which wasn't very big and contained little other than rice (a few peas, a bit of egg, and some tiny prawns).
for that price expect something more than basic bought chinese sauces, gluggy oversweet lemon chicken in so much batter the chicken was limp with oil, a teaspoon of 'crispy noodles' underneath that was likewise no longer crispy, and so much garlic in the blackbean sauce that the dish was inedible (and i love garlic).
the only visible vegetable aside from some peas in the rice was huge chunks of capsicum (so big it was uncooked) in the black bean dish.
we threw it all out after picking at the fried rice, then got the msg headache to crown the night.
