This is the best pizza shop in the area if not melbourne. great service and excellent value for money. the menu is great and i have had most items off their menu which are fairly priced and excellent in flavour. their range of gourmet pizzas are fab and real gourmets using delicious toppings. my fab is the smoked salmon and the morroccan chicken. give them a try!

I lived right around the corner from pizza bar for a year and a half and have ordered from them countless times. fifty, one hundred times, i really don't know. at one point my flatmate and i were placing independent orders to the same address on the same night, multiple times a week. they didn't seem to mind.
delivery is free and there is no minimum cost. despite living a 5 minute walk away i only went in there twice because the delivery service is so good that i never needed to. extra toppings are free (excluding gourmet ingredients) and so they should be. i hate being ripped off $1.50 for ten cents worth of olives and these guys understand this. half and half pizza is also free. a standard large is easily affordable at ten dollars.
the service is great and the regulars are always friendly on the phone. especially tony, what a champion. wireless portable eftpos is available on request (costs a dollar extra) and i can't emphasise enough how brilliant this is. i used portable eftpos about 90% of the time, i don't see why more pizza shops don't invest in this technology. i would have ordered less than half the amount of pizza as i have if they didn't have portable eftpos as i usually don't have enough cash on me.
as for the pizza itself, it is good. not the best pizza i've had by any means but i enjoy eating it nonetheless. it is decent, hearty suburban pizza. to pick at some flaws: there is not enough variety to the menu. many of the options are slight variations of each other and there isn't a lot of creativity to the regular menu. way too many of the pizzas feature ham, and this is one of the biggest downsides. i like ham, but they often completely overdo it. i would like more options that don't feature ham at all. it's cheap processed shredded ham that is frequently sprinkled on so generously that it completely overpowers the overall taste of the pizza. this isn't always the case, i guess it depends on who's cooking. just remember that less is more guys.
however, one of the the best things about pizza bar is that they are flexible without costing extra so i usually make my own modifications. less ham and mushrooms, more chilli, garlic and jalape?os. in addition to the regular menu there is a limited but interesting gourmet menu (including a smoked salmon pizza) and a ?pizza lovers? menu, which makes up for the lack of creativity in the main menu with classics such as ?mr potato head? (chicken, chips and corn), the spaghetti bolognaise pizza (literally the stuff from the pasta menu on a pizza covered in cheese) and the daring ?hot dog pizza? featuring chopped up hot dogs, bacon and onion covered in ketchup and mustard. a heart attack in the making but absurdly indulgent. they will also deliver chips with chicken salt for $3, fantastic!
if there is one thing that annoys me most about pizza bar, its the way the newer delivery guys ask for a tip when ordering via eftpos. i think its an option that comes up when they're keying in the total, they say ?that's $11.50...any tip amount?? this isn't america. i tip plenty of times of my own accord and don't want to be asked. sometimes i tip and sometimes i don't, let me make up my own mind without the prodding. i've subtracted a point in the service rating for this. overall though, pizza bar is a quality pizza shop servicing north west melbourne. well worth checking out if you live in the area.
