I have eaten here a few times. great fish, prices a reasonable and the service is always friendly.
you can't compare it to wanniassa takeaway - flake and frozen scallops. wt ok but the fish here is good.
i find the other reviews whiney

Shop looks clean and i got served straight away but that's the only positive feedback from the visit. the serving size for chips was tiny , the potato scallops were under cooked, the fish (barramundi)overpriced and floury tasting and all undersalted . if u want sonewhere better go to wanniassa pizza & takeaway not as much choice for fish but never get better value.

I have patronised naked fish recently and i was very satisfied overall. yes, it takes awhile to be served and food supplied. the takeaway on sale is not available anywhere in the woden valley area. the food is fresh and tasty. if the owner is to have several staffers serving every customer on arrival, then the prices will have to be increased or the shop owner will be bankrupt. what is your choice? if you do not like the food and/or the service, plz do not go there. stop complaining

The naked fish is by far the worst fish and chip shop i have ever experienced. it was expensive, tasteless, took 20mins for basic fish and chips; the beer battered chips were out of a bag. i had to feed my family of four and we ended up cooking up extra at home. costing nearly $50 it was terrible and i could have eaten at a football club for the same price.

This place is atrocious - we booked a "table" to discover that there was 3 plastic tables we had to push together. the fish came out cold, tasteless and absolutely no spice added to the grilled fish. the chips are "kingsleys" style - greasy and not nice. i don't rate this place at all... cheap though - the only positive! would never consider going back...

 Sensational tasmanian scallops

This guy knows his fish &chips... truly sensational light crispy batter and cooked to perfection... nothing beats it in canberra... he is an artist in the fish & chip department... everytime i am in canberra (unfortunately far to frequently) i definitely cheer myself up by having a sensational half dozen scallops and chips... oh also the flathead was great in same batter... hooray for this food artist, long may he prosper...

Naked fish is probably canberra's best fish and chips. the batter is light and crispy, the fish is fresh and there is a multitude of varieties. they also have a range of freshly battered seafood such as sea scallops (slightly over cooked), king prawns and mussels.
the salads and home made sauces are also a must try. the bean salad is divine.
the only complaint is that while prices are average, the portions are much smaller than i would like decreasing value for money.
none-the-less, step aside flathead's, this is canberra's best fish and chips (and it's not just the fish that rocks.
