Mario is the owner of the business and the maker of the food - so you can be sure his pizza are always delicious. he lovingly and skillfully prepares several pizza at a time - and ouir pizzas are always exactly as we asked for. no need to tell him twice that we like extra chilli and hot salami; he remembers our names and more often than not, throws in a complimentary garlic pizza. mario's pizza offers true italian hospitality - from mario and his 2 indian assistants. if you want a casual, friendly and no frills experience, you can eat in, and watch some tv withthe boys. they also provide home delivery, but as local residents, we enjoy visiting marios to personally order our take-aways. this way, we catch up with mario for a chat and enjoy the bustling and friendly atmosphere while we watch our delicious pizza being prepared.

The task of summing up one of fitzroy's obscure yet iconic pizzerias in just a few paragraphs is an arduous one. the circular gems are pumped out with a fervent passion by mario himself, and the toppings encompass ingredients representative of provincial italian fare. for the undecided pizza eater mario seems to possess the uncanny ability to select the precise toppings your stomach desires. to sink your mouth into just one slice of these rustic, mouthwatering slices it to fully experience pizza nirvana.
it's not much to look at, yet this no frills, no holes barred pizzeria keeps those like me making their regular saturday night pilgrimage for the most awesome and authentic pizza in town. he truly is super mario.
