Truly great service, wonderful food.

The location is great, the ambience truly special and truly indian. the service is excellent and the food is reasonably priced and delicious.
i went to manjit?s on a tuesday evening with a family group. it was the second time that i had eaten at this wonderful restaurant but my son is a regular and one of their most vocal advocates.
tastefully appointed with a classy decor and linen draped tables, the restaurant is upstairs on the main corrimal intersection. as well as the large main restaurant area that is indoors, it has an outside eating area a great view overlooking the busy corrimal streetscape. parking is both plentiful and close by.
part of our group arrived a little early and we were seated straight away to wait the arrival of the others. our waiter aman was very helpful with advice on the menu and swift friendly service with a wide welcoming smile.
the menu was extensive and offered dishes in a heat level to suit our personal tastes and in our group that ranged from very mild to a raging incendiary vindaloo. it was delivered in authentic indian serving dishes, looked great and tasted wonderful. the breads served to accompany the mains were very special.
this restaurant is a family business and it shows. it is a well oiled machine where the expected happened without any fuss and unexpected brilliant service and treats made for a special evening.

Great but need to work harder

Fantastic food, service is always great and whilst i liked the venue better across the road at the pub, the new venue is fine and does the job.
i have been going to manjits for years and only recently have i started to lose a bit of interest. my one complaint is that the menu is not varied enough, nearly every dish is rich and creamy, these are delicious but get a bit samey after a while. the menu hasn't changed much and new dishes that do appear generally tend to be of the same style as existing dishes.
the amazing machli tamatarwali fish dish is a delicious exception to this rule though, fresh and vibrant and full of flavor, the best dish on the menu, followed closely by the gorgeous malai kofta, which is a fave of both my vego and meat eating friends and much better than any malai kofta i have had in india, or anywhere for that matter.
with a number of other quality indian restaurants starting to crop up in the gong, manjits crown as best indian in the illawarra is no longer secure and they are going to have to work a bit harder to stay relevant. i hope they do, because they have the talent and know how to make terrific food.

Wonderful experience for the tastebuds
|
The food is amazing, best inidan i have eating. and the banquet main meals may appear to look small, but i have never left manjits without a sore belly from being way to full, the entree's and breads and meains together are huge. the service is as good as the food! a must to go to!

Smallest banquet ever
|
The portion sizes of the main courses in the banquet were so small that i felt rather ripped off compared the the elaborate descriptions from the waiter, i'm never going back

Great indian in wollongong

As someone who has been to india several times i can vouch for the quality and relative authenticity of this restaurant. the curries are rich and flavoursome, can be tailored to your desired spiciness, the tandoor oven presents lovely tandoori style grilled meats and the naans are very good. i suggest the thali plate for lunch! not cheap but you get what you pay for. enjoy
