Food is ok, prices are way too high. we waited over an hour for a pizza and that night, they couldn't even serve coca cola.

I was told about mammas by a work friend.
we went there for the first time this week and the food is to die for,
the owners are always around the chef (wife) came out from the kitchen and sat with us for a while and we told her how much we enjoyed the food there...husband recommended a red wine which was sensational..
pizza is to kill for and the best calamari i have ever eaten, we cant wait to go back to keep trying out the huge menu.

As a local, i have been going to mammas for more than 10 years. the owner is always in attendance and is dedicated. good food, a bit expensive but very reliable. still the best pizza on the penisula.

Ability to make a booking

I have rung three times after 5pm on a non-public day so your message would indicate that i would be able to make a booking for this thursday night for two. however i am told to call back another time.
so i think you need to check your machine as there may be others who would like to make a booking but cannot.

What a meal

I have just had the most fantstic "garlic prawns " i have ever eaten ...if you love prawns and you love them cooked in garlic oil (lots of garlic) then you must try these......
we then had a foccacia with grilled eggplant and cheese with some herbs unbelievable...it was so good.....
the vienna schnizel was fantstic but so big i think i had three huge pieces....

We've been to mamma's a few times now and absolutely adore their pasta dishes (we normally never ever order pasta when we go out because it's not an economical choice, but at mamma's we make a massive exception!)
for us, mamma's is a special occasion place with friendly service, great food and lots of ambience. in fact, we're hoping to get a table tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary :)

Pizza was ok but not great. value for money was lacking.
for a pretty authentic looking restaurant ,i couldve made better pizzas at home with whats left in my cupboard.i'll make my mind up completely once ive tried the pasta dishes.

I have been to many italian restaurants over many years but can never find one that measures up to mamma's . the food is unbelievably good,i am never able to finish a plate of their pasta..they are huge...great staff and lovely atmosphere the prices are very reasonable and the owners actually move around and speak to the diners....i can thoroughly recommend it.
