We have been to limeleaves quite a few times over the last few years and have had mixed experiences. the service is consistently average however the food has been all over the place from mediocre to sensational, the last 3 times however it has been sensational so we will keep going back. the staff do not seem very interested in engaging with the customers but we have decided not to take it personally and just enjoy the food! just don't go without a booking on the weekend as they are usually booked out.
i would definitely rate limeleaves as one of the best places to eat in queanbeyan.

This is one of the best restaurant in queanbeyan. it has exellent service with a smile, delicious food, the atmosphere is comforting and the prices are resonable. limeleaves thai restaurant is excellent not only for its food, but also the thai culture within the restaurant is very cultural.
i personaly know the people who work and own the restaurant and they are all very nice and resonable people with great service evry time you go and eat there. i would love for people to go and experience this very lovely, cultural restaurant and see for yourself how excellent the service and food is. ( don't go saturdays because you'll won't get a table ).....

Such terrible service
|
We had often travelled past this venue and considered the mid-1920's style building to be appealing for a visit into this thai restaruant. we therefore booked with a group of friends a table of 8 a week in advance (we were also pleased to venture there given that it was a byo restaurant). however, upon arrival we were notified that we had not made a booking.... it was not after considerable searching of the booking diary that a note was found that had not been entered into diary. we were then told that we would be 'accommodated' if we waited for half an hour. we gladly obliged as we were all keen to have a nice evening eating thai food.
the food was average and the portions were very small. only one small rice bowl was served for a table of 8 - we all shared a banquet to make things easier. also, we never received a smile or any exchange of pleasantries from the staff as they clearly took the view that it was our mistake for the booking not being entered into the diary.
upon finishing the banquet, the discussion amongst us all was not only about the clear lack of professionalism amongst the staff, but the lack of quantity of food provided for an 8 person banquet - we were all still quite hungry despite 4 supposedly main meals plus rice being provided.
to top the evening off, we were later informed upon paying (no notices within the restaurant or on the menu) that corkage for each wine bottle would be $7.00 and $2.00 for every beer. we were told that this is what 'everyone paid' and that we should pay it because we had been 'accomodated' that night at their displeasure.
the restaurant states it is thai, but having lived regularly in thailand due to my work committments, i can honestly state that it is just a massive charade. i dont think i have ever come across such dreadful service for a restaurant that appears on the surface to be quite appealing.
