Very poor service. sat for 15 minutes after arrival waiting for drinks order then had to request water 3 times. my partner was finished before my meal even arrived. we were seconds away from leaving. after complaining i was told they had given staff the day off but people came in from the street, so it was my fault? $83 for lunch including $5 surcharge for easter monday. i'll never go back to this restaurant.

A great venue when organising birthday's etc. the banquet menu is great value for money and jr2 were felxible to change the meals to suit what we wanted.
in addition, byo + a bar is available for people to pay for drink as they go, so no fuss with separating bills for those who choose not to drink.
food has been excellent, service too. highly recommended.

Jasmine rice ii (located on flinders street) had certainly disappointed. the food was really nothing special.
the seafood had that distinct 'crunch' that always accompanies frozen produce. this about sums up the experience.
the flavours were all too similar to the fast-food eateries found in pitt street mall, which didn't justify the price. it would be hard to believe if the curries were made on-site... it tasted of 'generic' packaged thai food.
the vegetables in my curry were chopped very large and were cooked for about 3 seconds. crunchy vegetables and crunchy seafood did not sum up the curry i was hoping for.
the only pleasant thing about this restaurant was the decore, furniture, the traditional costumes worn by the waiters/waitresses and general atmosphere. although, it would be worth the investment to section-off the large dining room in an effort to reduce the 'noise'.
all in all, the experience was lacklustre and unpromising. if i wanted generic-tasting thai food, i would have bought it from woolworths.
