I'm not normally one to go out of my way to write a review but just got take away from jade and it was by far the worst chinese food i have ever had! it was smothered in oil and the taste was pretty bad! would never eat there again!

I have am a chef of some 27 years, the food and the service you provide for the price is outstanding. i am a seasoned dinner and find your simple no bs approach quite refreashing. your food is great and your chef should be commended, i was served by a young woman of asian decent and she was very informative as well as being eager to serve wich is something quite rare and is missing in many establishments these days. thank you for such a pleasurable experience in your restaurant will recommend you with out hessitation. well done!

Best chinese we've ever had, my hubby loves the hot soup and the catonese sizzling steak is the best ever!! i nust admit i'm not crazy about their special fried rice, so always order the vegetarian rice instead. service is always fast and friendly, love the deserts and fortune cookies at the end of the meal!!! we've been there three times in the past three weeks...we can't eat there enough! i wish we lived down there, we'd be there every night!

So the food was a bit overpriced yeah (a lot) and look like it was microwaved, but the place was still pretty good i guess. the only thing is i don't understand how it can be a chinese restaurant when i did not see a single person of asian extraction in the whole place. i thought white australia had ended, not in torquay... ps, the satay chicken is ok, and scallops are a rip. peace out.

Staff r very friendly n efficient having said that i do not enjoy them watching me eat my meal whilst they stand behind the counter with their drinks when it's quiet. entrees n mains could be spread apart a little more. many a times ill still b eating my entree when the mains come out. the menu offers a range of dishes to choose from which is good and the place is always clean. it's a little pricey for the size of the servings you get but it tastes nice-depends if you prefer quality over quantity or vice versa.

Worst chinese i've ever eaten

We were all looking forward to our lunch as we'd heard some good stories of the restaurant.
our entrees didn't come out together. one of our table actually had to go and ask where hers was. the wontons were ok, but nothing special.
the singapore noodles were the worst i've ever eaten. they tasted like curry powder with some dried up pork thrown in. the curry repeated on me for the rest of the day. yuck!
the sizzling steak came out not sizzling, but warm. while the flavour was good, the vegies were still raw and the warm meat just sat in the juices. these people have no idea what sizzling means.
as for the fried rice.....what can i say. it was the gluggiest, blandest and most unenjoyable rice i've had the displeasure of eating, let alone paying for.
i will not be going back and neither will the rest of table.

Service was ok except for staff watching too much.
fried rice was gluggy, lemon chicken was mostly batter, dim sum was low quality, black bean sauce chicken/beef was alright. enjoyed the mini spring roll and perhaps the banana fritter. the complimentary water tasted off and gave me ibs.
atmosphere is a family type buffet feel even though its to order. expected much more. for the money i spent i could have had a better meal, atmosphere and service elsewhere.
