 A family fish & chips letdown

I read reviews from recent years and felt reticent to buy our family easy dinner today but lack of time meant i had to buy from this venue. the largest chips were a sprinkling on each person's plate, the scollops were small and the large fish tasted terrible. i forgot to ask about shark! i won't return due to disappointment. service was the best on offer

I read a bad review on the junction fish and chips but thought that it might have been a one off bad experience. there is a pattern forming at this shop...the chips were over cooked and dry, and tasted slightly burnt. we couldn't eat them, awful!!! i've never thrown out fish and chips before. the crumbed fish was just ok. don't take the risk...go somewhere else!

Apparently this place used to be quite the takeaway back in the day, sadly those days are over. we saw some really positive reviews after googling for a place to get great fish and chips. my partner and i live in toronto and usually travel out to the bay to get it. weather being as yucky as it is we decided to stay local and head to the junction to try their supposedly best in newcastle fish and chips. wow. $20 down the drain. we ordered cocktail fish and chips to share, my partner got a pumpkin scollop and it was all woeful. the fish was dry, the scollop overly greasy and the chips were just the typical frozen kind. we were parked in the merewether beach carpark and fed the lot to the seagulls. drove back down and went to grill'd for a burger instead. sad thing is, grill'd is right across the road, we should have gone there to begin with!

They never answer there phone so why post there number. many time after calling and then driving by to pick up my order else where they are open but never answer there phone for paying customers. not happy
