Love it
|
Had my first falafel here over 20 years ago and have gone back ever since. i wouldn't blame the owner being cranky having to put up with drunken yobs in hindley street. love it

We carefully and consistently give the falafel house a 100% rating for its carefully, expertly prepared healthy lebanese quisine. some customers from out-of-state say that f.h. is one of their main reasons for returning to visit adelaide. special mention must be given the falafel balls themselves, which are a magic mix of traditional middle eastern spices, broad beans, etc. and fried in 100% vegetable oil. also the f.h. tabouli is probably the best we've tried and the f.h. spicy beans (black-eyed beans) and onion and lentils far exceed any supermarket variety or that of other cafes we've tried. bread is usually obtained from the lebanese bakery in adelaide. the atmosphere is casual and comfortable, especially in the day-time. plenty padded, cushioned seats, and appropriate tables are in abundance for most any group 2-20 folks. however, be careful at night : hindley street is adelaide's sin street. there are sometimes alcohol problems late at night & esp. weekends. we return many times

What is the point of having best yiros if the service is so poor. i also witnessed this incident and i can tell you i will not return to this place. scary. funny how a business can change so quickly from good to very bad. i have also been a customer for years the 'scary man' has only been there for a couple of years. has no idea how to run business.

Tense atmosphere
|
Was a loyal customer for ages, but the friendly vibe was just a "business face" that quickly turned sour when confronted with a rowdy few. if you're wanting a place to drop in and enjoy a yiros on a night out don't come here. the tension was thick as drunken hooligans pushed the staff to breaking point over what appeared to be minor incidences with no safety concerns whatsover. the staff, on the other hand were far more intimidating, the owner was loud and scary and i feared for my safety when i too was barricaded in the store along with a good few others. wild, unsafe and unpredictable (2 stars)

Strange
|
The owner(im assuming as he is always there) usually has bloodshot eyes and shouts a constant stream of happy comments, but is quick to turn against you and wrongfully detained me and 8 or so other people due to a milk incident even though it was cleaned.

Best food we've had in adelaide
|
After being a cutomer at this establishment for about 20 years, we still rate the falafel house on hindley street,
as being the best take-away cafe in adelaide, and we have good taste
to judge by. give it a try... for this kind of chow, some would die !
