Nothing good about it
|
My partner and i were feeling like pasta for dinner and were left very disappointed. from the moment we arrived the service was poor and unwelcoming. we weren't asked for drinks until we waved a waitress down about 15 minutes after arriving. the atmosphere was tacky. i had an unpleasant view of a room dividing fireplace with a whole lot of junk and clutter stashed away on the other side. the meals came in a reasonable time, but were almost inedible. i had a pasta dish with prawns and scallops and both were overcooked. i then came across a large lump of what i believe was fat, which put me completely off my meal. the cheese on top of both pastas was tasty and not parmesan, which was bizarre. the overall experience was terrible and i will not recommend this to anyone or visit it again myself.

Friendly
|
We eat here frequently and almost always find the place to be warm and welcoming, with a casual, cheerful atmosphere. on busy nights, there can be a bit of a wait for food, but it's worth it. the food's not fancy, but it's well-prepared and tasty. overall, not the venue for a quiet candlelit romantic dinner, but great if you want somewhere comfortable and lively with unpretentious, tasty food.

Always reliable and friendly
|
For a place with a high volume of takeaway, this is a homely and comfortable spot in a creaky old building just off the busiest strip in castlemaine. lovely walled garden for shaded summer eating, great casual atmosphere inside. the wine is of good quality but low price and an excellent accompaniment to the pizza or pasta. nothing fancy, but every reason to relax and enjoy.

Capones - family friendly & delicious food
|
Both families and couples will feel at home here. the food is delicious and the menu includes healthy choices. try their vegetarian lasagne! otherwise, spoil yourself and have a wood fired pizza. ;-)
a big thank you to the folks at capones who provided us with some milk for our baby late one night. we were passing through from melbourne and the supermarkets were closed.
we really appreciated your kindness :-)
